John Anello
My passion for automotive vehicles has driven me to work on cars for close to 32 years. I started out as a mechanic and later as an engine rebuilder for my first 6 years in the automotive industry. I later moved onto a GM dealership for 5 years where I climbed the technician corporate ladder to become an "A" Technician and when I decided to move on in 1991 I started my own business "Auto Tech On Wheels".

My business provides repair garages with on site diagnostic support for problem vehicles in their shop without having to tow the vehicle to a dealership. In the last 20 years my business has grown to support 1200 repair shops, 300 body shops and 50 transmission shops.

Currently I provide factory level diagnostics with 20+ OEM PC based scan tools supporting vehicles up to 2010. These services cover the diagnostics of many operating systems and as well as providing remote programming of on-board controllers through the use of factory subscriptions. To this present day I have personally diagnosed well over 60,000 vehicles.

Bernie Thompson is a graduate of Lincoln Tech and he owns a ten-bay repair facility in Albuquerque, NM. Twenty five years of hands on experience and a burning desire to master the challenging and exciting field of automotive electronics pushed Bernie to begin designing better diagnostic and training equipment. In 2001, he and Neal Pederson established Automotive Test Solutions, Inc. a company that designs and manufactures innovative top of the line training and diagnostic equipment. Neal is an electrical engineer/computer programmer who has experience designing control systems for equipment ranging from particle accelerators to nuclear reactors. Together, Bernie and Neal have released patented and proven technologies that have been recognized by Motor Magazine's prestigious Top 20 Awards.

Realizing the need for better education in his field, Bernie developed an advanced training curriculum for the automotive industry. In addition to publishing articles in Motor Magazine (Dissecting Fuel Injector Waveforms, January 2005; Ignition Waveforms, May 2005, in press), Bernie has presented workshops at automotive conferences including NACAT, Vision, and CATS. He was a presenter at TST last year and he is looking forward to again sharing with TST members his dynamic ideas on automotive electronics.

Scot Manna currently owns and operates MB Automotive, a four bay service facility in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. He also develops and delivers technical training classes for several training providers including the State of Illinois, as well as ASA and Auto Value\Bumper to Bumper. Manna has also taught for several local community colleges and has delivered presentations at training conferences throughout the country.

Among his achievements, Manna was named Gates\ASE Master with L1 Technician of the Year for 2009. He competed in and was awarded the title North American Technician of the Millennium in 2006 and North Central Region Technician of the Millennium in 2001 by AC Delco. Manna was named ASA\ASE Technician of the Year in 2001.

Manna enjoys traveling with his wife of 23 years, Lore, who also provides huge assistance by keeping the books for MB Automotive. His hobbies include golf, reading, and cruising the local car shows in his 2006 Corvette. Manna lives in Mount Prospect IL with his wife and son, Christopher.
